Itinerary
Expand allDay 1: Arrival in Paro – Transfer to Thimphu
- Arrive at Paro International Airport, meet our local representative.
- Scenic drive to Thimphu (approx. 2 hrs).
- En route photo stops and glimpses of rivers and hills.
- Check-in at the hotel and relax.
- Overnight stay in Thimphu.
Day 2: Thimphu Sightseeing
- After breakfast, visit:
- Kuensel Phodrang (Buddha Dordenma statue)
- National Memorial Chorten
- Tashichho Dzong – the majestic fortress-monastery
- Local handicraft and textile emporiums
- Evening leisure walk at Clock Tower Square.
- Overnight stay in Thimphu.
✅ Day 3: Thimphu – Dochula Pass – Punakha / Wangdue
- Post breakfast, embark on a scenic 3-hour drive via the stunning Dochula Pass (3,100m) – the highest motorable point in Bhutan, famous for 108 chortens and panoramic views of Himalayan peaks like Gangkhar Puensum, Masagang, and Table Mountain.
- Check-in at your hotel in Punakha or Wangdue.
- After lunch, visit key attractions:
- Punakha Dzong – the “Palace of Great Happiness” located at the confluence of Pho & Mo Chhu rivers.
- Chimi Lhakhang – the fertility temple dedicated to the divine madman Lama Drukpa Kunley.
- Punakha Suspension Bridge – one of the longest in Bhutan.
- Scenic exploration of Punakha village and Jigme Dorji National Park.
- Overnight stay in Punakha / Wangdue.
Day 4: Punakha / Wangdue – Paro via Simtokha Dzong
- After breakfast, begin your drive to Paro via Dochu La Pass, soaking in the picturesque valleys of Paro Chuu and Wang Chhu.
- En route, visit:
- Simtokha Dzong – Bhutan’s oldest dzong and now a center for learning the national language, Dzongkha.
- On reaching Paro, check-in at your hotel.
- Post-lunch sightseeing includes:
- Ta Dzong – National Museum with Bhutanese artifacts and relics.
- Rinpung Dzong – Fortress of the Heap of Jewels.
- Tamchog Lhakhang – a temple built by the famous iron bridge builder Thangtong Gyalpo.
- Overnight stay in Paro.
Day 5: Paro Local Sightseeing or Tiger's Nest Excursion
- Post breakfast, choose one of the two amazing experiences:
Option 1: Paro City Tour - View of Taktshang Monastery from base.
- Nya-mey Zam – traditional Bhutanese bridge.
- Dungtse Lhakhang – unique chorten-style temple.
- Druk Choeding – a 15th-century temple in Paro town.
- Option 2: Taktshang Monastery Trek (Tiger’s Nest)
- Begin an unforgettable trek to Taktsang Monastery, perched 3,120m above sea level on a cliff.
- Built in 1692, this sacred monastery is where Guru Padmasambhava meditated for three years, making it one of the most iconic religious sites in the Himalayas.
- Return to hotel. Dinner and overnight stay in Paro.
Day 6: Departure from Paro
- After breakfast, check-out from your hotel.
- Transfer to Paro International Airport for your return journey with divine blessings and unforgettable Bhutanese memories.
